  • What medications do you offer?
Semaglutide injections (generic for Ozempic, Wegovy) and Tirzepatide injections (generic for Zepbound, Mounjaro) and Semaglutide Tablets (generic for Rybelsus).
  • How do the medications work?
Belonging to the class of drugs called GLP-1 Receptor agonists, Semaglutide and Tirzepatide works by mimicking the function of a hormone in the body known as Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). This helps regulate blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin release and reducing the production of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar. They also reduce your appetite and cravings. The medications are self-injected once a week.
  • What is the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?
After many studies, results showed that Tirzepatide stimulates more weight reduction than Semaglutide. However, Semaglutide has been around much longer than Tirzepatide, which means we have a better understanding of its long-term effects. We typically recommend starting with Semaglutide first.
  • What is the difference between Semaglutide injections and tablets?
This articles explains the differences well: https://www.verywellhealth.com/rybelsus-vs-ozempic-uses-efficacy-safety-storage-7567042
  • Why is Glycine added to Tirzepatide?
The addition of glycine aids in the maintenance of muscle mass during rapid weight loss.
  • What are the common side effects?
Nausea, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, reflux and headaches
  • What are the potentially serious side effects?
Pancreatitis: Although rare, there has been a report of pancreatitis in an individual using GLP-1 meds. This can be a serious condition and if you have a history of pancreatitis, it is not recommended that you take the medication. Thyroid C-cell tumors: GLP-1 Meds have been associated with an increased risk of Thyroid C-cell tumors in animal studies. But the relevance of this finding to humans is not yet fully understand. If there is a personal or family history of Thyroid C cell tumor, you are not eligible to take the medication. Hypoglycemia: While GLP-1 meds itself is less likely to cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) compared to some other diabetes medications, especially when used as monotherapy, it can still occur when combined with other medications that lower blood sugar (like insulin).
  • How many lbs should I lose and when should I start to lose weight?
Healthy weight loss is 1-2 Ibs per week. Some weeks you may lose more, some weeks less. Most people start to notice weight loss about the 3 month mark (some before and some after). Everyone is different but overall, most people lose about 15% of the body weight.
  • How long will I need to use the medication?
This is totally dependent on your body! Once you reach your weight goal you may want to continue with maintenance dosing or wean your dose down and stop. In general, people take the medication for 6 months to a year.
  • Do I need to diet and exercise too?
YES! Diet and exercise will augment your weight loss and prepare you to be successful in keeping the weight off when you stop the medication.
  • Which compounding pharmacies does MDShred use?
Red Rock Compounding Pharmacy in Springville, Utah. https://redrockhomepharmacy.com/ Anazao Health in Tampa, FL
  • How do I know when to increase my dose?
If you are having side effects from the medication that have not subsided yet, continue the same dose. If you are losing weight with no side effects and want to remain on the same dose, no problem. If you have reached a plateau with your weight loss, increase your dose.
  • What does the price include?
The price include a telemedicine consultation with the physician, one month of the medication (which include shipping and supplies) and 24/7 access to the patient portal to ask questions or express concern.
  • Which states do you offer your services?
Florida only. We hope to expand to other states soon.
  • Do you accept insurance?
No, we are not contracted with insurance plans and do not submit prior authorizations.
